My Muddy Feet

I don't always blog about my personal spiritual life. Maybe because it's too personal or maybe it's because I'm not spiritual enough. But anyway...God hit me with something literally in the middle of the night and I feel like I'm supposed to share it. I know it's David's story, but it's mine too. As I read through these words last night, I identified with each verse in a very real way.

I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.
Psalm 40:1-3

Those who know me well may not even know every detail of my story and that's okay, but God did something big in my heart and my life this past year. I truly feel that He put a new song in my mouth, not because there wasn't a song before, but because there was a need for a new, fresh song. I hope that it's been evident to others, and I hope that "many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD" because of what has done in me.
